Willy Ronis, an undisputable Black and White master of photography, dies at 99, the 12 Spetember 2009.
From 1945 to 2001 he has been one of the most important french photographer, with Robert Doisneau and Henri-Cartier Bresson (all the three featured in the museum of Modern Art in New York), first french to work for Life (as well as with many other world agencies), and one of the legendary B&W artist who depicted Paris in many unforgettable shots.
His images covered many subjects, but the parisian ones (like in the book Belleville Ménilmontant are considered his best. |
