When parisians get back in town from vacation, is a whole big event ususlly called the Rentrée, of course having been away, traveling or relaxing can cause all sorts of depressions when in town againg.

Perhaps just for this reason the "coming back" is coupled with all sort of events, precisely to lighten the heavy task of getting back to work or to school.

Some events for the 2009 Rentrée

FESTIVAL SILHOUETTE - Buttes Chaumont Park (19° Arr.) - 27 August-6 September

A giant screen placed at the wonderful park of Butte Chaumont, just in front of the lake, the Festival Silhouette is an international one, with concerts, documentary, short films, it's a real possibility to discovers artworks from everywhere in the world otherwise unknown. The movies will be divided into context and out-of context, and the time of projections is 21 p.m. - Concerts at 19.30 p.m.

JAZZ AT VILLETTE - from 1 to 13 September at Villette (19° Arr.):

more than 200 musicians and 50 groups, this 2009 edition of the well established Jazz Festival at Cité de la Musique seems to be more interesting than ever, with so many events organized to better stand this Rentrée, even a Jazz for Kids!
